Joel started this business in 1998 with one machine and a local phone number. The work came from neighbors, then from their contractors, then from the builders those contractors worked for — and it has come that way ever since. We’ve never needed to advertise our way onto a job site.
When his son came into the business, the obvious move was to scale: more machines, more crews, more jobs running at once. We didn’t. A second crew means someone who isn’t us is setting your elevations. That’s where excavation work goes wrong, and it’s the one thing we’re not willing to hand off.
So the model stayed simple. The two people who quote your job are the two people who run the machines on it. You get one number to call, and the person who answers it has been on your property.
